The Portuguese coach firmly believes the Italian midfielder is one of the best jewels in his roster. Zaniolo has been doing great in the eternal city.
Paulo Fonseca ignored Fabio Capello and his comments about Nicolò Zaniolo. In today’s press conference ahead of the Serie A clash Roma-AC Milan, the Portuguese coach clearly highlighted that his side is ready to face the Rossoneri even if, just a few days ago, his players were devasted for the final result of the Europa League match against Borussia M’gladbach.
“I don’t know who’s going to play between Leao and Piatek but our defense will not change on the basis of their striker…We will not be influenced by the opponent,” said Fonseca to the press in reference to the possibility to see a different defensive approach if AC Milan’s coach Pioli will select the Portuguese or the Polish striker.
When asked about Capello’s words on Zaniolo, Roma’s head coach promptly replied: “I haven’t seen or heard what Capello said…We all believe in Zaniolo’s quality. He got immense talent but he needs to keep working hard to improve…Since I got here, he has been exemplary in training. He has demonstrated great dedication and that’s what I care about.”
Zaniolo is a player capable of shining not only within the national border but on the international stage as well. He is rapidly becoming the driving force of a team that has been affected by several serious injuries since the beginning of the season.
