Lecce’s head coach Fabio Liverani knows that tomorrow’s match against Roma will be very tough. His side could attack the Lupi high up on the pitch.
Italian football is tough and strategically advanced. Italian coaches are very good at finding the right countermeasures to take advantage of the opponents’ weaknesses. Lecce may be inspired by Atalanta‘s tactical approach to put the Giallorossi in danger.
In the press conference ahead of Lecce-Roma, Liverani spoke about the Lupi: “We will face an international level team. We will have to suffer when they will push high-up on the pitch. We have to make them run backward. Humility, sacrifice, and attention are needed.”
When asked about how Roma should be attacked, Liverani clearly stated: “They are a team that wants to lead the game to then attack in the attacking third. They easily won against Sassuolo but Atalanta punished them with counterattacks. I believe they suffer when pressed high-up. They are very strong in the one v one.”
