Petrachi’s Most Important Week of the Season

The Italian sporting director needs to find the right men to help Fonseca. Three acquisitions may change Roma.

The Giallorossi need a decisive boost to be competitive. This is what the first Serie A match of the season told us.

The offensive efficiency of Fonseca’s side couldn’t offset the defensive gaps of his roster. There’s much more to do on the market before the end of the transfer period (September 2nd.)

Gianluca Petrachi is in charge of changing the destiny of a side that desperately needs to qualify for the Champions League. But three players may still be necessary to change the route of a ship that could enter in stormy waters.

Perotti will be out for at least two months. Kluivert is the only player capable of playing on that offensive flank. A new left winger may be necessary.

Fonseca is still waiting for a new experienced and fast centre-back. The Italian sporting director is reportedly still in contact with Juventus for Rugani and Liverpool for Lovren. Although both of them are not the perfect addition to the roster, Petrachi may be forced to pick one of them due to the limited resources and time available.

Schick may not be taken into consideration by the Portuguese coach this campaign. The Czech striker could move to Germany before the end of the current transfer session. Another experienced striker would be useful to Roma.

Petrachi’s most important week of the season has begun. Roma’s sporting director could change the destiny of Fonseca’s side if he will be able to make a few more acquisitions official.
