Ther Giallorossi played a good match against the Spanish powerhouse at the Stadio Olimpico. The players believe in Fonseca’s football credo.
Paulo Fonseca wanted to see a united group capable of playing with a purely offensive predisposition. This is exactly what happened in front of Zidane‘s team. Roma-Real Madrid ended 2-2 but the final result was not the most important thing. A precise game plan and the desire to apply new tactical concepts were clear.
Fonseca has conquered his group. The Portuguese is a very demanding coach. It’s not easy to develop his plays on the pitch but the Giallorossi firmly believe in themselves and in the ideas of their mentor.
“We are creating a group that believes in itself. A group that shows courage and character. We created at least eight goal-scoring opportunities in the first half while Real Madrid scored at the first opportunity,” said Paulo Fonseca in the post-match interviews.
Roma is working collectively to make progress. There is still a lot to do but the group is ambitious and wants to impress everyone.
Edin Dzeko may be leaving the eternal city soon but Fonseca is happy with his behavior and professionalism: “He has always shown great dedication. Right now, he is in our group and we are relying on him. He is a Roma player until something else happens.”
