Veretout: I Chose Roma Because It’s a Big Club

The French midfielder spoke to the press for the first time since he joined the Giallorossi. Veretout wants to impress everyone at Stadio Olimpico.

Jordan Veretout will be an important player for Paulo Fonseca. The Portuguese coach firmly wanted him in his roster. The midfielder will be Roma’s new playmaker as the player stated today: “He told me that he likes my way to play. His words convinced me.”

Roma’s main goal next season is the qualification to the Champions League and Veretout seems to be ready to reach that goal: “Roma is a big club that every year wants to get to the Champions League. They played the semifinals of that competition two years ago. Even if we will play the Europa League this year, our goal is to get back into the Champions League next year.”

Edin Dzeko may stay at Roma next season and Veretout would be happy about that: “he is a great player with a great physicality, a very effective player in front of the net. He scores many goals and he could help us a lot.”
