That Strategic Stall That Could Benefit Roma

Roma sporting director Petrachi does not accept compromises for Dzeko and recent transfer market news could put Roma in an extremely favorable position.

Everybody was waiting for this moment. The transfer market period is painful sometimes. But it is even extremely exciting when top-level strikers are almost ready to move.

According to the Italian transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Paulo Dybala‘s agent is in the United Kingdom to talk with Manchester United. The Lukaku-Dybala deal between the Bianconeri and the Red Devils may change everything from now to September, the end of the players’ trading session.

The news of Roma’s interest in Mauro Icardi does not seem to be a coincidence as well. If Juventus will complete its mission for the Belgian striker, the Giallorossi may benefit from that deal as well.

Gianluca Petrachi‘s strategic stall on the negotiation Roma-Dzeko-Inter could put the Lupi in a favorable position. After Moise Kean‘s departure to Everton and the possible move of Paulo Dybala to Manchester United, the Bianconeri may not need to sell Gonzalo Higuain anymore. Although this may seem like bad news for the Lupi, it is not at all, instead.

Reportedly, the Argentine striker Mauro Icardi was waiting for a call from Juventus but if Lukaku will join Sarri‘s group, that call may never come. Inter would be willing to find an agreement with the Giallorossi to unload Icardi close to the Colosseum and bring Dzeko at the Suning training centre.

As reported by Di Marzio through his official portal Gianlucadimarzio.com, Roma and Inter have been in contact for the Argentine star in the past few hours. Although Napoli may be in the race for Icardi as well, Roma would have good chances to pen a contract with him.

Focus 360: Icardi-Roma? Hypothetical Immediate and Future Benefits

Yesterday, I focused on the hypothetical immediate and future benefits of Mauro Icardi to Roma. Although his arrival in the eternal city would weigh a lot on the Roma accounts, his purchase may be the best choice for Pallotta‘s club. The Giallorossi want players that can appreciate in value. In a couple of years, when the player will turn 28, his price-tag could be astronomical and Roma may benefit from it in financial terms.

If Icardi will not move to the Italian capital, the Giallorossi could decide not to sell Edin Dzeko who may be willing to play at Roma until the end of his contract, 2020.
