Roma: Marcano Deal in Financial Terms

Porto and Roma made official Marcano’s move to Portugal. The defender returns to his former club.

Ivan Marcano is a new Porto player. The Portuguese powerhouse finalized this deal today. The Giallorossi made good technical and financial choice.

The Spaniard had played only 13 matches last season. He failed to make an impact in the eternal city but the Lupi had the possibility to trade him out making a profit anyway.

Although Marcano joined Roma as a free-agent, reportedly, the club of the Italian capital paid about €2 million in commissions.

The current situation is, therefore, beneficial to Roma. Porto made Marcano’s deal official today. The Portuguese side pays €3 million to get him back after only 12 months.

Taking into consideration his three-year contract with Roma, and his annual amortization of €1.4m, the Giallorossi make about €1.6m profit on Marcano. The 32-year-old from Santander had a contract for two more years with the Lupi. Roma also saves on his annual gross wage, reportedly about €2.7m per season.
