Higuain is reportedly not at the center of Sarri’s technical project. Roma, instead, would be happy to welcome him in the Italian capital.
Another deal between Roma and Juventus may be finalized this summer. The Giallorossi are screening the market for a top-quality striker and the Argentine could be the right man. Reportedly, Fonseca would be thrilled to train such a great striker and the Lupi are trying their best to convince Higuain.
But Juventus may be Roma’s best ally at this time. According to Calciomercato.com the agent of the player may be called up in Turin for a meeting. Reportedly, Juventus’ sporting director Paratici would like to sell Higuain to Roma in order to try to sign Mauro Icardi.
The negotiation between Roma and Juventus for Gonzalo Higuain seems to be on hold. Fonseca would have already had positive contact with the Argentine star.
The Giallorossi are also monitoring other profiles though. Gianluca Petrachi knows that only a great striker can replace Edin Dzeko. The Bosnia international should move away from the Italian capital by the end of the current transfer window.
Although Dzeko and Higuain are different players, the Argentine could be a good fit for Fonseca’s tactical approach. “My favorite striker is one who scores goals,” had said the Portuguese coach during his first press conference at Trigoria. Higuain is definitely a top-level player in front of the net.
Contacts could intensify in the coming days.
