Fonseca Firmly Convinced Roma Can Win Something

The Portuguese coach met with the press at Trigoria today. Fonseca has a strong desire to start this exciting new adventure in the Italian capital because Roma can win something.




He seems to be a self-confident man. A young coach with extensive experience in Ukraine and in the most important European competition for clubs, the Champions League. Although Jim Pallotta did not talk with him about seasonal goals, Fonseca wants to bring the club back to the football elite.

“I want to bring the club back into the Champions League. I also want to build a strong ambitious and courageous team,” said the Portuguese coach to the press. “We want to win every game and albeit we know that is not always possible we do want to build a team that all of our fans can be proud of.”

Paulo Fonseca is working hard in collaboration with Gianluca Petrachi to find the right players on the market. Their current goal is to add quality to the roster as he stated today. “Gianluca, Guido [Fienga] and I are working hard to build a strong team. We are looking at everything and considering our options to bring players able to add quality to this team,” said Fonseca in the press conference room at Trigoria.

He has a two-year contract with the Giallorossi and he wants to impress everyone by playing great football and winning as many matches as possible because “I am convinced this team can win one of the competitions we are involved in,” firmly stated the new Roma coach.
