Can Roma and Dzeko Unexpectedly Go Ahead Together?

The Giallorossi are not willing to lower his price-tag and Inter is silent. Fonseca could convince Dzeko to remain at Roma.

There are negotiations that go on for months and others that do not end positively. Dzeko’s saga is going on and on but something could change in the next few weeks.

No doubts that Petrachi is chasing Higuain but the Argentine striker is skeptical about joining the club of Trigoria. He would be a great pick for the future albeit his overall price seems to be very high.

But Paulo Fonseca may be working behind the scenes to convince the Bosnian to stay in Rome. This would be the best solution for the Giallorossi both on a technical and financial standpoint.

The Lupi would have two possibilities in front of them. They could extend his contract for a couple of years or simply convince the player to stay in the Italian capital until the natural end of his contract, 2020.

In financial terms, both solutions would be good. The player would be totally amortized by the club even if he decides to leave the eternal city right at the end of next season. In that case, Roma would have 12 months to find his replacement.

If the Bosnia international preferred to renew his contract for a couple more years instead, the Giallorossi would still have a leader and champion in charge of the group for a long time.

Reportedly, Dzeko is in total agreement with Inter but the Nerazzurri didn’t make the right offer to Petrachi so far. The Italian executive is an experienced professional who will not allow anyone to take the Roma players at a discount.

If Edin Dzeko were to perceive a positive environment and renewed ambitions he may decide to go ahead playing for the glorious club of the Italian capital. But if the call of Antonio Conte is insistent and convincing, then the striker will have to leave soon.

Roma must solve this issue as soon as possible. The Lupi need a super bomber upfront to chase the qualification to the next edition of the Champions League.
