Leonardo Spinazzola moves to Roma on a permanent transfer. The Giallorossi have purchased the defender from Juventus.
After his arrival in the eternal city and his medicals, Leonardo Spinazzola signs a contract with the Giallorossi until 2023. The player seems to be very happy about his new professional adventure.
According to Spinazzola “It’s a great feeling to be here because since I was a child, I have always had an affinity for Roma.”
The 26-year-old from Foligno (Italy) has a great experience in Italian football. He has made very good performances on the International stage with the Binaconeri. Spinazzola is a powerful left-back albeit he would be able to play on the right flank as well. Great strength and vision for the former Juventus man.
“I’m happy to be part of this new project,” said Spinazzola as reported by the AS Roma official website. “The city is amazing and the fans are so passionate.”
Roma paid €29.5 million for the Italy international, a very high fee for a player who experienced physical issues last campaign. He was unavailable from August to October 2018 due to a cruciate ligament surgery. He gradually returned on the pitch towards the end of the season. On March 12, 2019, he played a great Champions League match against Atletico Madrid (3-0).
Spinazzola has agreed to a four-year contract with Roma. The Italian left-back will be very useful to Paul Fonseca, a coach who needs fast and technical players on the sides of the pitch.
