Napoli’s Mertens Linked to Roma

The Giallorossi are thinking about a new striker. If Dzeko will join Inter, Mertens could be a great profile for Fonseca.

Transfer rumors are getting every day more insistent. Although football clubs are carefully managing their economic resources to end the financial year on the right track, this is the moment to negotiate potential players for next season.

Reportedly, Manolas would have agreed to a move to Napoli. Ancelotti wants the Greek defender who has a sweet release clause on his contract, €36 million.

Roma, instead, would be interested in Dries Mertens, a fast and multitasking striker who has the ability to play up there or on the flanks.

Mertens could be a perfect player for Paulo Fonseca. The Portuguese coach has always played a fast and technical striker able to cover a big portion of the pitch.

Napoli could be willing to trade him out also because his contract is set to expire in 2020. Mertens made 202 appearances with Napoli and scored 109 goals and 69 assists. The Belgian star could join Under, Kluivert, and El Shaarawy in the eternal city to form a super fast offensive line.
