The Serbian has been very close to coaching the Giallorossi but reportedly he decided not to join Roma.
Several coaches have been linked to Roma since Di Francesco‘s departure and the temporary leadership of Claudio Ranieri.
One of these was the former defender of the Lupi, Sinisa Mihajlovic. Roma fans were not happy about his arrival at Trigoria due to his past experience at Lazio but the coach has unveiled the reasons why he decided not to accept the Roma job.
“I was very close to Roma but then I understood they were not ready to do certain things from an environmental point of view,” said Mihajlovic to Sky Sport. “I was ready but they were not. I can even start a war against everyone, but if I’m alone I’m going to lose it. So I decided to thank everyone and not go. It would have been a great experience though.”
Reportedly, Roma has now chosen its new leader. Paulo Fonseca should sign a two-year contract with the Giallorossi soon and land in the Italian capital next week.
