Roma are chasing a new coach for next season and Sarri is still on their agenda. The Italian coach held talks in the United States with Chelsea’s owner Abramovich.
Although he met the goals set at the beginning of the season, the future of Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea is still uncertain. Reportedly, the Italian coach could be sacked right at the end of the current campaign. Rumors from the U.K. are stating that club legend Frank Lampard could replace him soon.
According to The Times, Sarri held face to face talks with Chelsea owner Abramovich lately. Reportedly, the former Napoli coach wants to know his future immediately. Chelsea will play the Europa League final against Arsenal on May 29, 2019, and the Italian coach wants to plan his future as well.
Roma and Milan are monitoring the situation. Although Sarri still has a long contract with the British side, he could be willing to accept another job if Chelsea executives will decide to change the leadership of the team. Reportedly, the 60-year-old from Naples (Italy) brought his Italian staff to west London but they will all be out of contract at the end of the season.
