The Italian coach is pushing his group towards the last curve of a winding and exhausting path. Roma are in the race to qualify for the Champions League.
They had called him to fix the mechanisms of an imperfect team and he is succeeding thanks to his experience and tactical acumen. Claudio Ranieri is a handyman, a man capable of speaking to the hearts of his men to push them beyond the obstacle.
He had presented the match against Inter pointing out that Spalletti‘s men are skilled in handling the ball and lethal in the last few minutes. Although his predictions were confirmed, his group reacted to adversity with tenacity, heart, and organization.
“We came here to try to win and we could have capitalized more and attack better. In the second half, they pushed us in our midfield. Inter were good at not giving us the opportunity to counterattack,” said Ranieri in the post-match interviews.
But Roma are now a solid side. In the last three games, the giallorossi have suffered just one goal and collected 7 points. The group is confident as they have never been during this troubled season.
“One point at San Siro can be fine. I asked my guys to play without fear to show them that we were there too,” continued the Roman coach.
