Fazio, Chievo and Porto Important but Roma Want the Champions League

Federico Fazio - AS Roma

The Spaniard knows that Roma should have done much better this season but the qualification to the next Champions League is the most important thing.

Roma will face Chievo Verona on Friday and the group wants three points to reduce the gap with Inter and hopefully overtake Milan. But the challenge against the clivensi is not going to be easy. Di Carlo‘s side desperately needs points to avoid a tough relegation after many amazing years spent in the Italian top flight.

Roma defender Fazio believes his teammates did great against Milan and Roma are definitely chasing a Champions League spot for the next season.

“We had a great performance against Milan,” said the Argentine player to Sky Sport. “16 games are left and from now on we have to play as good as we did against them. All these matches will be like finals form us. But it’s not going to be easy against Chievo.”

The giallorossi have suffered many goals this season albeit the defensive package has not been affected by Monchi‘s summer overhaul.

“Although the interpreters are the same, our way to play defensively has changed. We just have to look forward restarting from the great performance against Milan,” confirmed Fazio.
