Di Francesco: Attitudes Make the Difference

Roma halt Milan collecting one point at the stadio Olimpico. The giallorossi are still chasing a Champions League spot and Di Francesco praises his men for the positive reaction to this difficult moment.

Roma are not healed but today’s performance was definitely positive. Their terrible elimination from the Coppa Italia cannot be forgotten but the group must work hard to collect the necessary points to reach the qualification to the next edition of the Champions League.

Di Francesco thanks captain Daniele De Rossi for his tactical wisdom and experience but he wants more from his men.

“We would have deserved a victory but it looks like we have to be beaten up to wake up,” said the Italian coach. “But we didn’t do anything yet. Our performance was positive, though. I hope this is a new starting point even if we stumble again sometimes.”

Nicolò Zaniolo is becoming a superstar and Di Francesco praised him for his ability to play in midfield. “He is a great midfielder even if he played well as a trequartista too. He attacks the depth and shifts on the flank as well. He has great physicality and sprint. He must go ahead on this path and improve when he put crosses in from the sides. I can only say positive things about his performance.”

Daniele De Rossi is the best news of the day. “He is excellent in managing the pace of the game. He is able to put the ball vertically or horizontally. He is an extraordinary player,” said Di Francesco to Sky Sport.
