The second 45′ minutes at the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia represent a point of no return for the giallorossi. Roma’s performance yesterday was the worst of the season.
Everyone was expecting a very difficult match for the Lupi but nobody could imagine such a fluctuating performance. Roma made history yesterday against Atalanta, but unfortunately they wrote an indelible chapter of horror book.
Although Di Francesco‘s side had scored three goals in the first part of the game, their second half was a depressing display of mental and technical qualities dissipated in fear and instability.
Atalanta have simply killed Roma under both tactical e mental standpoints. Gasperini should be praised for what he is doing in Bergamo. His team plays marvelous and efficient football. On the other side, the Roma coach should be blamed. We are at the end of January and Roma are still ‘working in progress‘ and with a project leader (EDF) unable to make the right choices.
“I don’t know what happened. We don’t have continuity and this thing is driving me crazy,” said Di Francesco to Sky Sport right at the end of the match.
The stats of Atalanta-Roma are simply unbelievable. A top side (Roma?) unable to make a single play within the box in the second 45′ minutes. The many zeroes collected in the second half are a depressing trophy for the giallorossi.
