The President of the historic Portuguese club spoke about the next Champions League clash between Roma and Porto.
After having played marvelous matches in their respective groups, both teams are ready to challenge each other for a spot in the UCL quarter-final
The President of the legendary Portuguese side, Pinto da Costa, has already sent a clear message to the giallorossi speaking to the Portuguese outlet Jornal de Noticias.
“I think it’s a peer comparison, both teams have 50% chance to pass. We will certainly face these rounds as a pass for the quarter-finals and not as a point of arrival,” said Pinto da Costa in reference to the UCL double challenge against his team and Roma.
He also spoke about Porto’s intention to keep their best players. The January transfer window can represent a threat for the Portuguese side. Reportedly, many clubs are chasing Éder Militão and Hector Herrera and Roma are seriously interested in the latter.
“Nobody knows if some new players will join the club. We have an excellent roster and our current results are great. On the basis of the requests of our coach, we will try to retouch the group.”
“Players essential to achieving our goals will not leave the club,” concluded Porto’s President Pinto da Costa.
