A curious transfer market story unveiled by Napoli’s Sporting Director. Giuntoli had noticed the Roma striker when he was still playing in Slovakia.
Transfer market rumors and negotiations are exciting for the fans but when a professional working in the world of football unveils details about possible deals it is even more interesting.
In recent weeks, Sky Sport has interviewed many Serie A sporting directors in order to understand something more about their fascinating work and strategies. Even Roma’s Monchi had been interviewed a few days ago.
Napoli‘s executive Cristiano Giuntoli also spoke about Patrick Schick. The Italian sporting director had noticed the Czech striker when he was not famous yet.
“If I call my collaborators during the night? I do that because when I have something in mind that’s the right moment to do so,” said Giuntoli to Sky Sport. “I still remember when I had seen Schick in a match of a Slovakian lower league played on a suburban field. I called my collaborator Giuseppe Pompilio waking him up at 3 am in the morning.”
“What did I say to him? I told him…hey, I’ve seen a great player.”
