Roma Sporting Director Monchi was interviewed by the Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Spaniard firmly believes in his project.
No doubts that Monchi is a confident man, a professional able to bring excitement and concreteness wherever he goes. After 20 months in charge of Roma, the expert sporting director is not sick of the Italian capital but ready to give his best for the giallorossi.
“My project here is still very long. You can wrap-up the situation when you get to the end. I believe that the past season was positive, but the current has not been good so far,” said Monchi to La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Results don’t change my way of thinking. Moreover, they cannot compromise my enthusiasm at Roma.”
Rumors are reporting on his decision to leave the eternal city right at the end of the 2018-19 campaign. But the Roma executive firmly replied. “I already said what I think. I’ll stay at Roma. My goal is to achieve success gradually but continuously. I understand that the fans want to win, but it is also important to be always competitive.”
“Roma are better than what people say. This club is a role model and I’m sorry that sometimes it remains in the background. I do not like winning just once and then never again,” continued the sporting director of the giallorossi.
