The Dutch defender is still working hard to recover from his double knee injury. But Roma cannot wait anymore and Karsdorp could be traded out in the January transfer window.
Rick Karsdorp‘s adventure in the Italian capital has been very unlucky. The Dutch defender had joined the giallorossi on July 1, 2017. The Lupi had paid a very high fee (€14m) for a talented player with a great future ahead of him. But a terrible double knee injury compromised his spell in the eternal city.
In the 2017-18 campaign, the Dutch right-back made only 1 cap playing 82‘ minutes. The current season is not better than the previous one (3 appearances, 109‘ minutes so far).
Reportedly, Monchi seems ready to let him leave. According to the Italian portal Gazzetta.it, Karsdorp could rejoin his former club Feyenoord soon. Both clubs are working on a loan, but the Lupi want to keep the ownership of the player rather than giving the opportunity to the Dutch side to redeem him at the end of the period.
Monchi believes the defender could regain confidence and his past physical efficiency. The Spaniard would like to have the chance to bring him back to Rome if things change.
