Former Roma midfielder and current coach of the Italian U-21 national team Gigi Di Biagio spoke to the Italian outlet La Stampa about his team and Zaniolo’s progress in the eternal city.
Everybody seems to be impressed by Nicolò Zaniolo, the talented midfielder that Roma snatched from Inter last summer. In that agreement, Radja Nainggolan moved close to Luciano Spalletti and Zaniolo, instead, landed in the Italian capital. A win/win deal that, apparently the giallorossi are very happy to have put in place.
The former Roma midfielder and current coach of the Italian U-21 national team Gigi Di Biagio was interviewed by La Stampa recently. He spoke about the ambitions of his team but he also praised the Roma youngster.
“We might not have discovered a Totti or Del Piero yet. But we have great talents out there,” said Di Biagio. “Zaniolo? He is destined to have a great career. It’s unbelievable how he’s been able to show off all his qualities right away.”
Gigi Di Biagio was also asked about the participation of Italy in the next European Cup. “We will get there ready to play against everyone. We have had important confirmations in the games against England and Germany. We have lost both matches without deserving it.”
