Florenzi: Coppa Italia Our Target, Champions League Our Dream

Alessandro Florenzi | AS Roma

The Italian fullback spoke to Sport Mediaset about his career at Roma and his ambitions for the near future. Florenzi wants to make a difference and become as good as De Rossi and Totti.

He is a handyman, a player able to cover different roles on the field. Coaches love him for his adaptability and tactical knowledge. Alessandro Florenzi is a useful and sometimes indispensable pawn for a group that faces many challenges during a season.

He has admired Francesco Totti and he is impressed by Daniele De Rossi, two great captains of his beloved team. But this is his moment and with the right attitude and dedication, he wants to get closer and closer to the Roma fans.

“I would like to be a captain like Daniele [De Rossi]. But I know that it’s not easy and that to do what Daniele is doing and what Francesco [Totti] had done for 20 years, I have a long journey ahead of me,” stated Florenzi to the Italian outlet Sport Mediaset. “I have to improve a lot to get to their level though.”

The Roma fullback also spoke about the possible objectives of his team in the current season. “The Coppa Italia could be a key target for us but we cannot stop dreaming about something even if we know that there’s something impossible too. We have another goal. It could be the Champions League [talking about an unpredictable possible victory of the giallorossi this season]. I’m not saying that it is a utopia but it would be really a dream to go over what we have done last year and possibly try to improve,” said Alessandro Florenzi.
