The Italian coach passed through tough moments but in the last period, his situation has changed. The Roma executives believe in his leadership and way to train the group.
The bad period seems to be over. Eusebio Di Francesco and his group are back on track after a shocking beginning of the season. Although the gap with those clubs at the top of the Serie A standings is huge, the Italian coach is still firmly at the helm of the boat.
In a recent interview released to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Roma Sporting Director confirmed his trust in Di Francesco.
“It was not difficult [to confirm the Italian coach] because there was 100% confidence in my idea to keep him here [in Rome],” said Monchi to the Italian newspaper. “Everyone shared my point of view. We talked about Eusebio only 15-20 seconds when we went to Boston to meet Pallotta.”
“Then there are moments, especially when you lose against Udinese and Bologna or when we drew the match in Cagliari, in which you would like to kill the coach and me. But in those moments my being a fan prevails. My confidence in him was great when I got him and today it’s even stronger,” concluded Monchi.
