Di Francesco - AS Roma

The Italian coach wants a prompt reaction from his group after the very disappointing match against Atalanta. The Coppa Italia is the right stage to perform better but Roma will face a competitive side. Di Francesco wants to qualify to the next round.

There’s only one way to let the anger go away, a convincing Coppa Italia‘s win. Roma on the road at the Stadio Artemio Franchi to face Fiorentina. The match will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 30th, 2019, at 11:30 AM (EST).

Eusebio Di Francesco didn’t hold a pre-match press conference but he spoke to the official TV station of the club.

“We are lucky because we have the possibility to play again [just a few days after the disappointing performance in Bergamo]. In a knockout match, we don’t have the possibility to make mistakes. We have to improve,” said EDF to Roma TV. “Milan are not in my mind at this time, instead, I’m focused on Fiorentina.

“We are similar to them [Fiorentina and Roma]. We thought we had more balance in the defensive phase, but these two games made us realize that instead, we have to work a lot more on this aspect. I always say that the defender must always think negatively, thinking that something can happen at any moment. Sometimes we were a bit too distracted.”

“We really care about the Coppa Italia because all competitions are important. At this moment, there is a greater desire to move forward in this cup and more attention as well. We will try to get to the semi-finals knowing that we will play an away match in front of many Fiorentina fans,” said Eusebio Di Francesco.
