Atalanta Coach Gasperini Confirms Mancini’s Possible Move to Roma

The Italian coach spoke ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A clash Atalanta-Roma. Gasperini clearly confirmed that his defender Gianluca Mancini is a target of the giallorossi.

We are facing a weird transfer market situation. This is an uncovered negotiation that could lead to two scenarios. Everybody knows that Roma are chasing Gianluca Mancini, the strong defender is doing great things at Atalanta. Although the Italian player is being monitored by several top Italian and European sides, reportedly, the Lupi are in the front row to finalize his acquisition.

All clues lead to the Italian capital. Mancini could be joining the giallorossi in January or in June and Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed these speculations by addressing this topic serenely.

“It is also said here [that Roma are interested in Mancini]. It’s true. Roma are the team that has shown the greater interest. But they are not the only ones. Other Italian and foreign sides want him [Gianluca Mancini],” said Gasperini to TuttoSport.

The Italian coach cannot rule out Mancini’s departure in January.

“I always defend Italian football and I hope he will remain in Italy. Nowadays, his departure seems to be difficult [in the January transfer window]. Roma should really show a great love for the player. But the market can get crazy in the last few days. Let’s see what happens,” concluded the Atalanta coach.
