Di Francesco: I Would be Happy to Win Without Deserving It

Di Francesco | AS Roma

The Italian coach is facing his future. If Roma fail today’s match against Inter, the executives could decide to replace Di Francesco.

There’s a moment in which a team needs to change gear to not waste an entire season. That moment has come. Roma face Inter at the Stadio Olimpico. The match that will take place at 2:30 PM (EST) could be the most important for the Roma coach.

Roma-Inter: Probable Lineups

Although the executives of the club of Trigoria are definitely still supporting their choice, Di Francesco needs to bring positive results to the Italian capital. Roma cannot miss the qualification to the next Champions League and a possible defeat today could change the cards on the table.

I cannot think about a match played one year ago. There were completely different situations and physical conditions,” said Eusebio Di Francesco to the media yesterday in the press conference ahead of Roma-Inter. “We would not have deserved to lose that game. I hope to do like Inter…I would like not to play well having less opportunities but eventually winning the match.”

The Roma coach firmly believes his group have mental issues, they are unable to react to difficult moments. “We need strong men, or we must help these men who feel weaker at the moment. Since I’m in charge, I have to give more strength to this group working on their minds with continuity.
