Di Francesco: First We Struggled, Then We Hurt Them

Roma collect an important away win at the Stadio Tardini against Parma. Di Francesco praises the performance of his men and celebrates the holidays smailing.

The giallorossi left Parma with three points in their pockets after a tough challenge. D’Aversa‘s side has a good offensive quality and thanks to the former Roma man Gervinho, they have been able to put the Lupi in trouble sometimes.

But Eusebio Di Francesco is enthusiastic about the performance of his group. “We began to recover important players, this gave us the strength to change the game. I knew we would struggle because they have important offensive solutions but we suffered only one counterattack,” said the Roma coach to Sky Sport right after today’s Serie A match.

“In the second half we have improved a lot finding great and quality plays. First, we struggled but then we hurt them.”

Di Francesco also pointed out that his group needs a bit of time to improve because there are several young players with no experience. “When you choose to rejuvenate the group you know that you have to pass through tough moments. Zaniolo is a talent that I played even in September in the Champions League because I had seen important signs from him. Although today he has been below expectations, I believe it is normal. He also needs to understand that we must always work with great humility.”

Kluivert and Under are improving as well. Pellegrini is a leader that I know better than many other players,” concluded Di Francesco.
