Champions League Market Pool: Salah and Alisson Bring Millions of Euros to Roma

Thanks to the performance of two former Roma men, the Lupi will bank extra revenues from the Champions League. Salah and Alisson make Roma happy again.

The European stage is exciting and rewarding for clubs. The Champions League is a source of life for many football powerhouses.

Even if the Lupi suffered a terrible defeat against Viktoria Plzen yesterday, Roma can celebrate the qualification to the knockout stage of this important competition.

But two former Roma stars, Salah and Allison, have brought extra cash into the coffers of the club of Trigoria.

Thanks to their performance, especially in the last Champions League clash against Napoli, Roma will be able to eat a bigger slice of the market pool pie.

The UCL market pool has been estimated at €50 million. The first half is distributed according to the clubs’ placement in their domestic championship. The second, instead, is collected by the four Italian teams depending on the number of games played in this edition of the Champions League.

In light of that, Roma have already banked €5m for their participation and €3.4m referred to a variable amount. To know the final numbers of the market pool we have to wait until June because it is calculated on the basis of the games played by each side.

Also, the qualification to the UCL second round brings extra 9.5 million into the Roma coffers. With Napoli and Inter out of the Champions League, the Lupi will earn extra revenues from the market pool.
