Roma General Manager Mauro Baldissoni spoke about the Champions League draws and the performance of the Lupi.
Roma will face Porto in the Champions League Round of 16. This is good news but only if the team regains compactness and sporting ardor.
Mauro Baldissoni admitted that Di Francesco’s side is passing through a tough moment but the executives of the Lupi hope for an immediate change of direction.
“Roma have unexpressed potential and we are experiencing many issues this season. But last year we played well even in the Champions League,” said Baldissoni to the Italian outlet Sky Sport. “This season, we made more mistakes and clearly the situation is more complicated”.
The Roma General Manager also spoke about the next Champions League clashes against Porto. “Luckily, this match will be played in February. First of all, we must be sure to be at our best. This is more important than knowing who is our opponent.”
Baldissoni was also asked about Eusebio Di Francesco‘s position and his possible replacement with Paulo Sousa. “You simplify very complex situations. Football teaches us that results are decisive for the coach and us as well. Di Francesco is the coach and he led us to the Champions League semifinals”.
“Clearly, it’s tougher to face issues with inexperienced players. We should solve these matters first. But many players have not been able to support the team due to injuries. Roma have good players, not youngsters,” concluded Mauro Baldissoni.
