The Czech striker played a good match against Sampdoria albeit his performances have to improve if he wants more playing time at Roma.
Although the Lupi have collected three deserved points in the Serie A home match against Gianpaolo‘s side, Patrick Schick needs a shock to be the sublime player seen with the blucerchiati again. His performance at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday is definitely better than the sketchy appearances made by the Czech international previously.
But the Roma fans and coach Di Francesco need more from such a talented guy who joined the giallorossi in summer 2017 for an overall €42 million fee.
Yesterday’s 85% pass accuracy is a good starting point for Schick and the goal scored against his former teammates can unlock him mentally getting him back to bloom. He was a little more stubborn and persistent on Sunday in front of many cheerful Roma fans who appreciated his commitment and celebrated for his goal.
“I missed the goal. I’m really happy to have found it again. I believe that if I can unlock myself, I can recover my quality again,” said Patrick Schick to Sky Sport Italia right after the match played against Sampdoria. “I still lack a bit of physical condition. I still need playing time. I’m happy with the victory, though.”
Sometimes, the man to man marking typical of Italian football can be tough for talented strikers. Schick believes that Sampdoria‘s tactical approach favored him yesterday. “It is always better to find more space and Sampdoria wanted to play open. This is also why I felt better than other games. In my opinion, I can play a lot better,” concluded the Roma striker.
