The Roma talent is currently playing with the Dutch U-21 selection, but he wants more than that. Kluivert is working hard to convince Ronald Koeman to call him up.

Everybody knows that Justin Kluivert is a young but very ambitious football prodigy. When Roma purchased him last summer, the fans waited impatiently for him. His technique and sprint are not common to all players. Justi Kluivert is a jewel still a bit raw but that over time could shine.

The Dutchman has clear ideas about his future. Slowly, he is getting more playing time at Roma. Eusebio Di Francesco knows that a youngster must be controlled and treated with great care. That’s what the Italian coach has been doing so far.

Recently, Kluivert’s performances have improved. The Roma winger has also scored his first Champions League goal against Viktoria Plzen at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Although the Dutch U-21 national team suffered a bad loss against Germany (3-0) recently, Justin Kluivert was rewarded with the captain’s armband. “It was an honor,” said the Dutchman to Fox Sports right after the match. “I just want to show what I can do. Unfortunately, it was not a good result, but I’m proud of the guys who were here for the first time. We did not play a lot together, especially when compared to the Germans. We are still in a phase in which we must know each other better”.

Kluivert knows that the only way to get summoned by Ronald Koeman for the Dutch national team is to play well and consistently at Roma. “I will do my best to make the coach’s choice difficult. Because if you ask me, of course, I want to play for the major national team”.
