Roma leave Florence with a point but recriminating for a very dubious penalty given to Fiorentina after a good performance on the road.

Although the referee has validated a doubtful penalty for a mysterious foul of Olsen on Simeone, the Lupi have shown a  good mental strength and tactical predisposition at the Artemio Franchi. Florenzi’s goal in the 85th minute has simply mitigated the disappointment of the Roma fans who expected a victory on the road.

Roma played a good match against a very tough side, though. Pioli‘s group is very young but talented. Chiesa is a very dangerous winger able to turn his team on and off during the 90 minutes.

Alessandro Florenzi scored the equalizer today. In the post-match interviews, the Roma captain has analyzed the key aspects of the match against Fiorentina.

“We wasted two points for our demerits. Although we have had ups and downs this season, today we tried to play our football for 90 minutes. Then there are episodes that can go for or against such as the penalty. Referees do their job and can make right or wrong decisions, we accept them as always,” said Florenzi to Sky Sport Italia.

“We wanted the three points. We are sorry for the fans. They were so many tonight and made us feel their great warmth. With this personality and with more malice we will bring the matches on our side,” concluded the Italy international.
