The Bosnian striker admits the Champions League is something different. Dzeko loves this international competition.
The Champions League is back and Edin Dzeko is warming up his engine. In today’s press conference ahead of CSKA Moscow-Roma, the Bosnia international expressed his feelings when he faces a Champions League clash.
“We have enjoyed this competition last year. When you get to the Champions League semifinals is even better,” said Edin Dzeko to the press. “With a win tomorrow we can get to the next stage. This is a very important match for us.”
The Roma striker knows that the performance of the giallorossi have been disappointing since the beginning of the season. Those in the Serie A have been unexpectedly mediocre.
“It’s difficult to explain [our ups and downs in Serie A], perhaps because there are less matches to play in the Champions League. Obviously, we have to do well in Serie A too. We know the Italian championship is tough. Even weaker sides are not going to let you win easily. We have to give our 100% to win,” continued Dzeko.
“We are always waiting for the Champions League. I’m not saying that we will reach the semifinals again but we want to give our best and win as many games as possible.”
The Bosnian star firmly believes he must improve even more. He is scoring goals on the European stage but his Serie A performances are questionable.
“I’m the first responsible for scoring goals. I’m making many mistakes in this period. When I do not score I’m not happy. I should be angrier on the field. But nobody believes that I don’t like to lose. That’s why I’m nervous sometimes,” said Edin Dzeko at the press conference ahead of the Champions League match CSKA Moscow-Roma that will take place tomorrow at Luzhniki stadium.
