Di Francesco: “We Could Have Done Better”

Roma defeat CSKA Moscow in a pivotal Champions League match. Di Francesco is moderately happy with the performance.

The Roma fans were hoping to see a Roma Champions League version and that’s exactly what happened in Russia.

The giallorossi have approached the match properly putting high pressure on the Russian side. Manolas‘ goal in the 4th minute has changed the course of a tough game.

In the post match interviews, Eusebio Di Francesco expressed his enthusiasm for this important win but also his concern. His men should have closed the game without suffering.

The result is important but we could have done better especially at the end. We cannot relax. We have the possibility to do more than that,” said the Italian coach.

We are improving and Cristante is getting better in our mechanisms. But we have to do something more. Today, we faced a team that put us in trouble between the lines. We have to kill the matches, though.”

Di Francesco is already thinking to the next Serie A home match against Sampdoria. “Now, I have to assess the best team to face Sampdoria. I’ll change something. Although they have lost against Torino, Sampdoria is a good team able to manage the ball properly,” said Di Francesco to Sky Sport Italia.
