Di Francesco: Determination Cannot Be Bought at the SuperMarket

Di Francesco | AS Roma

Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco focuses on an important aspect that is missing from his group. The Roma players are not determined enough.

The Champions League show is ready to begin, again. Tomorrow at 3:00 PM (EST), the giallorossi will face Real Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico. The eternal city will host the European champions and the Lupi must give their best to collect a positive result and get to the next stage of the competition.

But the performances of his group in Serie A are bothering the Italian coach. Eusebio Di Francesco is trying to push his guys to give something more even domestically. Unfortunately, their 7th position in the standings represents an indelible stain on the season.

“If somebody reads the stats without seeing the final result he would definitely think that Roma have easily won the match [in reference to the game against Udinese]. What we really missed is determination. It’s something that everybody talks about but that you cannot buy at the supermarket,” said Di Francesco to the media in today’s press conference. “I’m talking about that desire to win games with greater malice.”

“Many data should be positive but then they become negative due to the final result. We have to believe more in what we do within the box shooting on goal with more determination. Today, I’m talking about my team because I do not have to say anything about myself. I have always felt great trust from my club. But football is football and the result is important. First of all, we want to get to the first position in the group. Although our situation in the Champions League is good, we want it to become optimal with a great performance tomorrow,” said the Roma coach.
