The Italian coach is visibly disappointed after the Roma Champions League defeat. Di Francesco also mentioned that several players will be unavailable for the next Serie A match.
Roma lose 0-2 at the Stadio Olimpico. Real Madrid deservedly collected three points and the first position in the Group G. The giallorossi, instead, can celebrate the qualification to the next stage of the 2018-19 Champions League.
In the post-match interviews, Eusebio Di Francesco analyzed the UCL match against the Spanish powerhouse and he also stated that many top players will be unavailable for the Serie A clash against Inter.
“Beyond individual mistakes, today we took to the field with a young team. I liked the initiative of my players, but we can not fall into the usual mistakes,” said the Roma coach to Sky Sport. “Every time we suffer a goal we do not play anymore. I’m very angry about that. Zaniolo was one of the best on the field and last year he played in the youth team.”
“We pay for individual mistakes. We can not always talk about young players, though. I liked the predisposition of my guys. But older ones must drag them.”
Di Francesco also announced that several top-level players are ruled out for the next Serie A match against Spalletti’s side.
“Dzeko, Pellegrini, El Shaarawy, and De Rossi are not going to be available against Inter.”
