Aggression, a Key Factor for Di Francesco

Di Francesco | AS Roma

The Italian coach held a press conference ahead of Fiorentina-Roma. Di Francesco wants a convincing win tomorrow.

Although Roma played a timid and disappointing match at the Stadio San Paolo last Sunday, the giallorossi want to impress everyone winning the next away clash in Florence.

In today’s press conference, Eusebio Di Francesco pointed out that experiments are not an option at this time. The Italian coach wants to collect three points against Fiorentina.

“We have to give a signal to ourselves trying to win this match. Our goal is the three points because we need to fill the gap [with the other teams at the top of the standings]. But we have to play well under a tactical and mental standpoint,” said Di Francesco to the press.

“Although we have lost only one of the last seven matches, I’m not satisfied. I want more from my group. I pretend to get good results and performance. But in order to do so, we have to improve.”

“We thought to work in a certain way but we have been lacking in continuity. We have not been aggressive offensively. That is a key factor because if you are able to play in the opponent side of the field, you give a sense of domination. That is what we are missing the most,” continued the Roma coach.

Edin Dzeko will lead the offensive operations once more while Patrick Schick could be playing as a winger. De Rossi, instead, has not been summoned due to a knee injury and he will be out for a long time. According to Di Francesco, the captain will not be available for the next Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow and in the following match against Sampdoria.

Pastore and Kluivert are traveling to Florence with their teammates but they should sit on the bench. Di Francesco has not confirmed that Manolas will play. Juan Jesus could be a good option as centre-back.
