The giallorossi played a sloppy match in Tuscany but defeated Empoli 0-2 exploiting the skills of their top players. Andreazzoli’s men would have deserved more.

Roma collected three important points in the Serie A away match at Stadio Castellani. Although in the press conference ahead of the game Di Francesco had said “We are going to Empoli to dominate the scene” the Lupi didn’t impress for offensive production and solidity.

Empoli put the giallorossi under pressure during the second half pushing on the flanks and creating dangerous numerical superiority. “Empoli would have deserved something more today,” said the Roma coach in the post-match interviews “I like when coaches are able to put something in their teams.”

Roma scored 2 goals at Stadio Castellani shooting on target just 3 times. Dzeko & Co. have shot on goal 10 times during the 90 minutes but they conceded 19 shots to Empoli. The Tuscans have shown a greater physical and mental presence on the field (17 successful tackles vs 8).

Di Francesco‘s team goes ahead with their unexpected streak of victories especially after their bloody defeat in Bologna.
