The Serbia international played a great 2017-18 campaign but according to CIES football observatory, his performances are remarkable nowadays as well.
When Roma decided to bring the Serbian star in the Italian capital most of their fans were skeptical due to his age and previous experience at Lazio. But when Aleksandar Kolarov has ridden the flank like a horse the judgment on him has totally changed.
His experience is indubitable and his dedication to the giallorossi as well. Recently, Eusebio Di Francesco also unveiled that Kolarov played the derby against the city rivals Lazio with a broken toe.
CIES football observatory has released a performance ranking highlighting the most valuable players divided by role. In the fullback table relative to the top 5-league, Aleksandar Kolarov is in the third position with a rating of 88.7. Ahead of him only the Borussia Dortmund super talent Achraf Hakimi (rating 92.7) and PSG’s Thomas Meunier (89.5).
It’s interesting to know that Roma’s summer signing Davide Santon comes right behind his Serbian teammate. The Italian full-back is, therefore, in the fourth position of this ranking (rating 88).
Every month the well-known observatory that studies European football draws a ranking based on the performance data of each player.
