The former captain of the giallorossi believes Di Francesco can use Pellegrini as trequartista and praises the Italian coach for changing his tactical system.

One of the top radio broadcasters of the Italian capital, Centro Suono Sport -101.5 has interviewed the former captain of the Lupi Giuseppe Giannini who stated:

“It’s normal to think that Pellegrini is ahead of Pastore as trequartista at this time. His goal in the derby mentally unlocked him. I believe Lorenzo [Pellegrini] can be a new Nainggolan for Roma.”

Giuseppe Giannini praised Eusebio Di Francesco for changed his tactical approach. After the bloody defeat in Bologna, the Italian coach reportedly had a meeting with the senators of his roster and decided to implement a new 4-2-3-1, a system that highlights the qualities of his players.

“Di Francesco’s choice was remarkable. He gave him a new stimulus. Pellegrini has physicality, sprint, and the ability to score goals as well,” said Giannini. “Pastore is a different player with a better technique. However, I believe Pellegrini should play consistently at this time.”

NZonzi and De Rossi form a great pair in this tactical system. The 4-3-3 seemed to be a difficult approach to adapt to the current roster,” concluded the former Roma player.
