Roma defeat CSKA Moscow 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday. Di Francesco pushes his group to prepare all the matches in the same positive way.

Roma’s bloody defeat against SPAL is still in Di Francesco‘s mind albeit the Lupi have collected a deserved Champions League victory at the Stadio Olimpico. Now, the giallorossi sit in the first position of the group G ahead of Real Madrid. But the road to get to the next round is still difficult and dangerous.

In the post-match press conference, Eusebio Di Francesco has highlighted the quality of his players spreading good words about Robin Olsen and Edin Dzeko. Their remarkable performances have pushed the giallorossi today against a very tough Russian side.

“In order to win games, a friend of mine says that the goalkeeper must save shots and the attacker must score goals,” said the Roma coach. “He [Robin Olsen] is improving a lot even thanks to Savorani [the coach of the goalkeeper]. I congratulated him the other time as well because he is a great worker. He was used to working on a team that was throwing the ball ahead, but here he learned to play with his feet. He can still improve a lot.”

Edin Dzeko has scored a brace in the first half leading his team to the victory. Di Francesco believes that the Bosnian striker is a top player who prepares all the matches with great determination and professionalism.

“It gives me the feeling that he [Dzeko] prefers to play in the evening. If you analyzed the matches he plays in the evenings, these are different matches. I must say that he is a great professional, even if sometimes he seems listless. The question can also be psychological. But he is a player who always prepares matches for the best,” stated EDF.
