According to CIES and its economic data, Monchi purchased the Italy international at a discount last summer.

Financial data is definitely important in today’s football. One of the abilities of a sporting director must be to sign talented players for the right price.

According to the report released by ‘CIES football observatory’, the Spaniard negotiated Bryan Cristante‘s price-tag efficiently.

On July 2, 2018, Roma signed the midfielder from Atalanta paying €30m to the club of Northern Italy. Cristante was one of the best performers in the Serie A edition 2017-18. But according to CIES, his real value should have been 49.4 million.

Apparently, Monchi made a great deal. Although the player must demonstrate his value on the field, Roma secured a talented and young midfielder.

Atletico Madrid are mentioned in the report having signed Rodri Hernandez for 21.9m less than his ‘real’ market value. Inter should be happy as well. The former Roma star Radja Nainggolan joined the Neroazzurri last summer. Luciano Spalletti saved €12.9m for his beloved midfielder. Juventus snatched Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid after having paid €117m to the Blancos. Apparently, CR7‘s real market value should have been 11.5m more.

Thibaut Courtois is in the first place among the best purchases of the last transfer window. Real Madrid saved 22.6 million for the Belgium international.
