Roma Crisis in Numbers: 1.25 Points per Game

The 2018-19 campaign didn’t start well for the giallorossi. Di Francesco’s men collected only 5 points in the first four Serie A matches.

Roma need to perform differently to make their fans happy. The current trend of the Lupi is not enough to calm the criticism of those who believe that the club is only looking for profits and not victories. Reportedly, even president James Pallotta is deeply upset and angry with the performances of his men since the start of the new campaign.

Data are there to testify that Di Francesco needs to find the right countermeasures to change the direction of a boat that is slowly sinking into dangerous waters.

In the first 4 Serie A matches, Roma collected only 5 points. Three in the first away match against Torino and two in the double draw against Atalanta and Chievo Verona at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The fans of the giallorossi are very disappointed and are blaming Monchi for his choices on the transfer market. Di Francesco is under fire as well. His tactical approach is not efficient so far. Probably, his 4-3-3 is not productive anymore and the physical condition of many players is not satisfactory.

Only four players have played all the matches so far. Olsen, Manolas, Kolarov, and Dzeko collected 360 minutes but their efficiency is questionable. The Swedish goalkeeper is not Alisson Becker but he has some qualities that can benefit the Lupi. Manolas is the most important piece of the Roma backline. But the performances of the Greek must improve as soon as possible. The giallorossi suffered 7 goals in four matches. Kolarov is paying the consequences of his efforts in the World Cup. Dzeko, instead, is always very positive but he needs to score more goals.
