Di Francesco: “There is Too Much Uncertainty”

Eusebio Di Francesco - AS Roma

Roma lose two points at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday conceding two goals to Chievo Verona. The Italian coach is very disappointed but analyzes the issues.

Everybody was expecting a win from the giallorossi in today’s home match but Dzeko & Co. started on the right path and disappeared after the half-time break. The Bosnian star played well in the first 45 minutes providing a sweet assist to Cristante for the 2-0 but he suffered in the second half together with his teammates.

Chievo Verona, instead, seemed to be in trouble but reacted properly and collected a golden point in the Italian capital.

Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco was very disappointed in the post-match interview.

“The match was under control but if you do not kill it you can get in trouble,” said EDF in the mixed zone. “We lack in defensive solidity. The offensive performance can even be good enough but we lacked those attacking runs from the midfielders.”

The coach knows that his group needs to feel the positivity around it. “We needed this victory. The group needs an applause after a mistake. It’s a shame because in terms of dedication and commitment they deserve more. But at the same time, you cannot concede this much if you want to do important things.”

“There’s too much uncertainty. We must hold onto our mentality. We can’t do any of that in Madrid. We need to defend well as a team, then we can work on producing some excellent attacking play,” concluded the Roma coach.
