De Rossi: “I am Owned by the Roma Fans”

The captain of the giallorossi was interviewed by the Italian outlet Il Romanista ahead of the Serie A home match against Chievo Verona.

There are players with incredible skills on the field and others who exploit their dialectic wonderfully. Daniele De Rossi has combined these two qualities throughout his career.

The Roma captain is an experienced man and professional who knows the mechanisms of football and communication having spent about 20 years in the spotlight.

“This is a healthy group that helps, embraces, and welcomes new players in a spontaneous and positive way,” said the midfielder to Il Romanista. “I would keep all my teammates because I get attached to them. However, the coach and the sporting director have to decide what to do. But the current roster is strong because the new players are strong.”

Daniele De Rossi is a hero in Rome, a player that was born and raised in the Italian capital. The fans of the giallorossi love him for his dedication to the club. But his honesty has always been his trademark. He knows that his role in Rome is very important. De Rossi is not only a player in the eternal city, he is a role model.

“Do you know what it means to be a Roma legend? It means that you have to bear a huge responsibility. It means you have no choice. It means that when in the past I received offers, when we were on the verge of bankruptcy or when somebody calls you, you are not the one who answers because I am owned by the Roma fans.”
