The Stadio della Roma project is still alive. The municipality of Rome is ready to go ahead.

The Stadio della Roma saga is going on. According to the Italian newspaper ‘Il Tempo’, James Pallotta can still finalize the facility he proposed to the municipality of Rome about six years ago.

Many things have happened in this period. Reportedly, Luca Parnasi, the head of Eurnova, was negotiating with DeA Capital Real Estate the sale of the entire package.

As the Italian outlet reported, Eurnova had never been the only business partner of the giallorossi. Apparently, the company led by Parnasi is not a construction company but a Real Estate development group.

As the judge in charge of the preliminary investigations stated, Parnasi was negotiating the sale of the land in which the Stadio della Roma will be built as well as the overall construction project inclusive of the required administrative authorizations.

According to the magistrates involved in this intricate case, the deal was almost sealed with DeA Capital, a group founded by Carlo De Benedetti in 2000 and headquartered in Milan. However, DeA Capital clarified that the company is not involved in the investigation and the negotiation was only in a preliminary phase.

Recent rumors are reporting on an interest of Starwood to replace Eurnova in the construction phase of the Stadio della Roma. As the Italian outlet ‘Il Tempo’ reported, James Pallotta would be trying to get Starwood involved in the project. These rumors are not officially confirmed at this time.

Starwood was the group involved with Pallotta in the acquisition of the 31% stake of Roma in 2014.

Alternative solutions are possible as well. Reportedly, Asian and Australian groups are interested in this deal.
