Roma’s official match programme sat down with Kevin Strootman to analyze the upcoming season and the quality of his compatriot Justin Kluivert.
Here we go…the Italian Serie A is ready to begin. Today, Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo will face Chievo Verona on the road for the first match of the Portuguese star with the bianconeri.
Roma seem to be ready as well. The Lupi want to challenge Allegri‘s team for the title even if Juventus is clearly the favored team for the final victory.
Kevin Strooman, though, firmly believes that six weeks of training in Trigoria and in the United States has been enough to build a solid team ready to face Torino at the Stadio Grande Torino on Sunday.
“It’s difficult to really assess the team at this stage. The first game of the campaign is around the corner and I believe we’re ready,” Strootman said to the official TV channel of the club ‘Roma TV‘.
“This summer the coach has continued working on his approach. We had a good season last year, but we can do even better.”
In reference to the player that could be the real surprise of the Italian Serie A this season, the Roma midfielder is confident in the quality of the young Justin Kluivert.
“He’s a young and talented player but he needs to learn Italian. He has massive potential. He’s so quick in one-on-ones. He can add a great deal to our midfield.”
