The Italian coach held his first press conference of the season ahead of the Serie A match Torino-Roma.

There is an entire season to play and Eusebio Di Francesco knows that the current campaign will be tougher than ever. As he stated today at the press conference ahead of the first Serie A match against Torino, “The quality in Serie A has increased across the board. It will be an even tougher league. Walter Mazzarri is a very meticulous coach in the way he prepares these matches.”

Monchi has reshaped the giallorossi. Although the choices the Spaniard made in the past transfer window were shared with the coach, EDF is now forced to assemble a competitive starting 11 to win matches and collect points.

The Italian coach believes that Pastore and Cristante have the necessary quality and physical condition to play tomorrow at the Stadio Grande Torino.

“These players have different qualities but they are both in good condition and could start the match albeit Cristante is more of a midfielder and Pastore prefers to play in the final third.”

The best Roma purchase of this summer Steven NZonzi is not traveling to Turin with his new teammates. As Di Francesco has explained, the frenchman needs to work hard to reach a top physical condition. However, the former Sevilla FC man has the quality to play in midfield with Daniele De Rossi as well.

“He needs several training sessions to get back to match fitness. De Rossi and NZonzi can perform similar roles but they also have the qualities to play side-by-side.”
